William J. 'Bill' Mazzucco

SCOTIA- William J. ‘Bill’ Mazzucco, 70, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, September 28, 2021.
Bill was born and raised on Weaver Street, a son of the late Orlando and Antoinette (Rossi) Mazzucco. He was a 1969 graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School and received an AAS in Hotel Technology in 1972 from SCCC. Bill honorably served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War in the Mekong Delta Region, of South Vietnam. He worked in the hotel industry as a food purchaser at the Gideon Putnam Hotel, and later in many capacities for the City of Schenectady. He was an avid history buff, especially interested in the Civil War, an enthusiasm he shared with his son. Bill was a kind man, always doing good and put others before himself. He enjoyed following NASCAR, his Indianapolis Colts and was a die-hard Frank Zappa fan.
Bill is survived by his beloved wife, Irene Jernakoff Mazzucco, whom he married on October 28, 1989; adoring son, Anthony J. Mazzucco; many dear friends.
Services will be held on Sunday at 4 pm at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, 501 Union Street, Schenectady.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home on Sunday from 2-4 pm.
Memorial Contributions may be made in Bill’s memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
