NISKAYUNA – Virginia Grasso Samler, 77, formerly of Whitmyer Drive, entered into God's presence on Saturday at Kingsway Arms after a short illness.
Ginny was born in Schenectady, on May 4, 1935 a daughter of the late Salvin and Mary Schettine Grasso. She was a 1953 graduate of Nott Terrace High School. She was a Secretary for various companies including European Health Spa; GE Research & Development and retiring from GE Silicones in Waterford. Ginny was a gentle loving woman, devoted to her family and friends. In 2011 she entered the Art for the Heart Program, sponsored by NYS Health Facilities Association, showcasing her artistic talents.
She is survived by her loving children, Susan Foster and her husband Bill, of Durham, NC; David Samler and his wife Rebecca; Gary Samler and his wife Mayeth all of Bradenton, FL; and Lynn Pallotolo and her husband Mark, of Niskayuna; devoted brothers, Thomas Grasso and his wife Adele of Ballston Lake and George Grasso and his wife Nancy of Saluda, SC; eight adoring grandchildren; four great grandchildren; a cousin Robert Alteri and her lifelong friends Jean & William DePersis.
Services will be held Wednesday morning at 10am from the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, Union at N. Jay Street with her son-in-law Bill Foster, Minister officiating. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens, Colonie.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, Tuesday evening from 4 to 6 PM.
