GLENVILLE- Virginia R. ‘Ginny’ Varrone, 92, passed away at home on Thursday, June 23, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.
Ginny was born in Schenectady, a daughter of the late Louis and Mary Grace Scripa. She graduated Nott Terrace High School. Ginny worked as a computer operator at the General Electric, retiring after 25 years of service. She was a kind woman, with a generous and loving heart, a contagious smile; and a passion and devotion to her family.
She was an avid bingo player throughout the region, where she made many friends.
Ginny was predeceased by her beloved husband, William L. Varrone, Sr., on November 13, 2002; and her loving siblings, Angie, James, and Larry Scripa, Eleanor Coons, and Helen Collins.
She is survived by her loving children, William L. (Debbie) Varrone, Jr., Carol (Richard) Natalie; adoring grandchildren, Dick, Rod, Lisa (Mario), Billy, Tony (Gina), Adina, James (Rachel), and Alex, twelve great-grandchildren, eleven great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Carmela Scripa and Louis (Rose) Scripa; many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Saturday at 10 am at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, 501 Union Street. Interment will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home on Saturday from 8 to 10 am.
