SCHENECTADY – Viola LaDue Giaminelli, 84, of Howard Street, died Monday, at home with her loving family by her side.
Viola was born in Oneida, New York, a daughter of the late Jerry and Marion Ballard LaDue.
She attended school in Albany. Viola worked for over 20 years at OTB, as operator 15 for the phone-a-bet line where she truly loved conversing with all her customers. She was an avid bowler, bowling in many leagues over the years and loved traveling with her sons and enjoyed her country western music and dancing. Viola was a devoted communicant of St. Anthony’s Church.
The Giaminelli family would like to recognize the wonderful, loving and respectable care the staff of Community Hospice gave to our beloved mother.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 56 years, Joseph J. Giaminelli, whom she married April 15, 1951 and he died April 8, 2007.
Survivors include her loving sons, Joe G. and his wife Gale Giaminelli of Rotterdam and Patrick J. Giaminelli of Schenectady; grandchildren, Kyle Joseph Giaminelli and Brianna Marie Giaminelli; also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Thursday morning at 9AM from the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, Union at N. Jay Streets, then to St. Anthony’s Church, Seward Place, where a Mass will be celebrated at 10 AM.
Interment will follow the Mass in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Schenectady.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Viola’s memory to Community Hospice of Schenectady, 1411 Union Street Schenectady, New York 12308.
