Vincenza 'Vin' Esposito

SCHENECTADY – Vincenza 'Vin' Esposito, 97, entered into eternal peace on Wednesday at the Baptist Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Vin was born on March 1, 1915, a daughter of the late Francesco and Rosalia Caracciolo. She graduated from Schenectady High School and worked for the American Laundry and Central Market. She married the late Louis Esposito in September 1937 and together they owned and operated one of the first Stewart's stores which became Esposito's Market on VanVranken Avenue working beside each other for many years. Vin was a member of the DAV Auxiliary and a lifelong communicant of St. Anthony's Church and a member of the Sacred Heart League. Vin was kind and gentle, she had a loving and generous heart, always giving to others. The family would like to extend a gracious Thank you to the nursing staff of N3 at Baptist Health for their compassion and wonderful care.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 51 years, Louis Esposito in 1988; her devoted son, Ronald Esposito in 1995; siblings, Florence Caracciolo and Louis Carach.
She leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her; loving sisters, Mary Jo Zizzi, of Utica and Helen Hendrickson and her husband Charles, of Schenectady; adoring nieces, Barbara and Frank Ranucci, Mary Lou Jones and her husband Michael Wierzbicki, Ann Marie and Michael Comis, Rosemary and Eugene Galime, Ellen and Joseph Karwacki, Mary Hendrickson, Deborah Esposito and the late Nina Martin; sister-in-law Maria Esposito.
Services will be held Saturday morning at 11 am at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, Union at N. Jay Streets, then to St. Anthony's Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 am. Entombment will follow in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home on Friday from 4 to 6PM and Saturday from 10 to 11AM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Anthony's Church, 331 Seward Place, Schenectady, NY 12305; St. Anthony's Bread, 836 Sanders Ave., Scotia, NY 12302 or Baptist Health Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 297 N. Ballston Avenue, Scotia, NY 12302.
