GLENVILLE - Vincent Peter ‘Pop’s’ Morelli, 78, passed away on Sunday, May 9, 2021 at Ellis Hospital, due to complications from COVID-19.
Vince was born in Schenectady on October 8, 1942, the son of the late Peter and Christine Simone Morelli. He graduated from Linton High School and attended HVCC. Vince was employed as a machinist at the General Electric Company for 37 years. After retirement, he worked alongside his son Pat in the window repair business. Vince was a kind, dedicated and honorable man. He worked hard to support his family, but always found the time to volunteer as a Webelo, Cub and Boy Scout Leader. He founded and headed the Beukendaal Fire Brigade; was a long time member, former 2 term Chief and on the Board of Commissioners for the Beukendaal Fire Department. Vince was an avid fisherman and camper, not a season went by that Pops was not at the Warrensburg Travel Park. Affectedly known to his family as the leader of “The A Team”, Vince will always remain at the head of the pack.
Vince was predeceased in 1999 by his beloved wife of 36 years, Pearl Morette Morelli; and a granddaughter Vida Pearl Carpenter-Morelli.
He is survived by his loving sons, Daniel (Mary) Morelli, Pat (Cindy Carpenter) Morelli, and John (Donna Moore) Morelli; grandchildren, Anthony Morelli, Curtis (Cyndy) Williams, Justin Kroup, Melissa (Robert) Soucia, Jeremy (Libby) Kroup, Izech and Ezekiel Carpenter; his cousin and best buddy, David (Laurie) DuPont; great-grandchildren, Kylie Soucia and Cameron Williams; sister-in-law, Danita Morette Neal; many cousins also survive.
Services will be held on Monday, May 17th at 9:30 am from the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, 501 Union St., followed by a 10:30 am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Madeline Sophie, Church, Carmen Road. Interment will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Schenectady.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home on Sunday, May 16th from 12 - 4 pm.
