Vera Vanderhyden Montone

SCHENECTADY- Vera C. Montone, 83, formerly of Oneida Street, entered into eternal peace on Thursday at Pathways with her family by her side.
Vera was born in Schenectady, on October 30, 1928 a daughter of the late Ralph and Ella Atkins VanDerHyden. Vera was employed at Ellis Hospital as a supervisor retiring after 30 years of dedicated service. She was a lifelong communicant of Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha Parish. Vera was a loving and devoted wife and mother, she cherished her grandchildren and great grandchildren and the time she was able to spend with her family.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband Frank J. Montone on May 29, 1984.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Sandra Donovan and her husband John, of Rotterdam and Frances Steele, and her husband Paul, of Glenville; adoring grandchildren, Michael (Konnie) Steele, Michele (Mark) Hendrickson, Shannon (Patrick) Murphy, Sean (Colleen) Donovan and Jamie (Billy) Bolton; great-grandchildren, Brandon, Kayla, Evan, Maggie, Sierra, Paulie, Isabella and Kalli Rose; and her sister, Sr. Mary Joseph VanDerHyden, CSE, of Charlestown, MA.
Services will be held Tuesday morning from the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, Union at N. Jay Street at 10:30 and then to Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha Parish, Rosa Road where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 am. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park, Colonie.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home Tuesday morning from 9 to 10 am.
Memorial contributions may be made in Vera's memory to Pathway Resident Fund, 1805 Providence Ave., Niskayuna, NY 12309 .
