SCHENECTADY – Tina Borah, 64, passed away peacefully on Thanksgiving Day.
Tina was born in Schenectady a daughter of the late Richard and Gloria White Borah. She graduated from Ballston Spa High School and began her long career with OTB, retiring after 35 years of dedicated service. Tina was a staunch Republican; a member of the Schenectady Women’s Republican Club, and worked on many local campaigns, including former Schenectady Mayor Frank Ducci and Senator James Tedisco. She was a communicant of St. Anthony’s Church and an annual Feasta Worker. Tina was a strong and independent woman, who learned at a young age that her disability from Cerebral Palsy would not inhibit her; she led a truly remarkable life with the guidance and help of her parents, sister, family, and friends. She was proud of her self-sufficiency, loved her collection of Elephants; her puppy dog Charlie and her cats.
Tina is survived by her loving sister and brother-in-law, Kim and Frank Byrnes; and many dear cousins.
A Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 12 noon at St. Anthony’s Church, 331 Seward Place. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Interment will be private.
Memorial contributions may be made in Tina’s memory to St. Anthony’s Church Restoration Fund or Sr. Maria Rosa’s Food Pantry.
