GLENVILLE - Timothy Jude Farry, a lifelong area resident, passed away at home on February 19, 2025. Born on July 5, 1950, he was the third of five children and grew up surrounded by family, faith, and a love for sports.
A graduate of Bishop Gibbons High School, Class of 1968, Tim was known for his talent on the basketball court, where he showcased a remarkable left-handed hook shot. He continued his education at the State University of Brockport, earning his degree before dedicating his career to public service as a NYS Department of Transportation Roads and Bridges Inspector, retiring in 2005.
Tim was a dedicated member of the Knights of St. John Commandery #100, Uniform Rank & Fifth Degree Noble Order, where he embraced the values of service, camaraderie, and faith. An accomplished bowler, Tim made several appearances on the Capital District’s TV Tournament Time with Howard Tupper in the 1980s, demonstrating his precision and skill on the lanes. Whether competing or enjoying a casual game with friends, he approached the sport with passion and determination.
Above all, Tim was a devoted son, brother, uncle, and friend. He carried himself with kindness, quiet strength, and an unwavering loyalty to those he loved. His presence will be deeply missed, but the memories he created will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
Tim was Predeceased by his parents Robert and Albina (Andrews) Farry, and his brother, Richard Farry.
He is survived by his siblings, Bobbie Ann (Donald) Morgan of South Carolina, Rita Marie Farry of Maine, Patricia (Robert) Beckley of Montana and sister-in-law, Susan Farry of Altamont, and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews
Services will be held at 5 PM on Tuesday at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, 501 Union St. Relatives and friends are invited to call from 4 to 5 PM. Memorial contributions may be made in Tim’s memory to St. Jude’s Children’s’ Hospital at stjude.org.
