SCHENECTADY- Stephen N. Pacelli, 93, entered peacefully into eternal life on Saturday evening at Ellis Long Term Care.
Stephen was born and educated in Schenectady, a son of the late Stefano and Marianina Santagano Pacelli. He honorably served in the United States Army during WWII in the Pacific Theatre, where he was wounded in action and received the purple heart. Stephen worked at the General Electric Company as a welder for over 30 years. He was an avid golfer, golfing until he was 85 years old. He played on the Stanford Heights Golf league and was a member of Stadium Golf Course for many years. Stephen was a lifetime communicant of Sacred Heart St. Columba Church.
Stephen was predeceased by his beloved wife of 63 years Carmella C. Comanzo in 2009.
He is survived by his loving children, Stephen J. Pacelli and his wife Mary, of East Syracuse, Louis R. Pacelli and his wife Melanie, of Cortland, NY, Mariann Fulton and her husband Henry, of Schenectady and Dennis J. Pacelli and his wife Michelle, of LaGrange, GA; ten grandchildren; a great- grandson and many nieces and nephews.
Private services will be held on Thursday at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, Union at N. Jay Street with Pastor Anthony Solomon, officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery.
