GLENVILLE – Sharon M. Latal, 66, entered peacefully into eternal rest on Friday, October 17, 2025, at home, surrounded by love and with her devoted husband by her side.
Born in Niskayuna, Sharon was the beloved daughter of the late Gilles and Mary (Insero) Vautrin. She began her education at St. Columba’s and later graduated from Mont Pleasant High School in 1977. While still in high school, Sharon earned her cosmetology license, the beginning of a lifetime of hard work, and dedication.
Throughout her career, Sharon wore many hats with pride. She held roles as a cashier at P&C Markets, a sales associate at Carl Company, a medical transcriptionist at Bellevue Women’s Hospital, a lab receptionist at St. Clare’s Hospital, and a medical records technician at Ellis Hospital. She was a New York State licensed cosmetologist from 1977 and also a licensed real estate agent with Doreen Ross Associates for 22 years, retiring in 2024. Sharon brought her strong work ethic and kindness to everything she did.
Above all, Sharon was a deeply loving and selfless woman, an incredibly devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Family was the center of her world. Her home was filled with generations of family photos, a warm testament to how much she cherished her loved ones.
In her quiet moments, Sharon found joy in sunbathing, working on puzzles, and crocheting. She and her husband shared a passion for travel, especially in their motor home. Together, they made treasured memories on the road; basking in the sun at Myrtle Beach or feeling a sense of freedom watching wild horses roam on Assateague Island.
Sharon will be remembered for her gentle spirit, generous heart, and the unwavering love she gave to everyone lucky enough to know her.
Sharon is survived by her beloved husband and best friend of 44 years, Kenneth O. Latal, Jr. her loving son, Nicholas Christopher Latal and her cherished grandson, Payton Thomas Latal; her cousins Jeanie DeSorbo, Joey (Kathy) Insero, Frank (Diane) Insero, Bobby (Cindy) Insero, as well as numerous next generation cousins.
