Shannon M. Dehart

Niskayuna – Shannon M. DeHart, 53, entered peacefully into eternal rest on Friday, February 9, 2024, after a lengthy illness at home, with her loved ones at her side.
Shannon was born in Albany, on August 16, 1970, the daughter of the late Eugene Arthur and Mary Ellen (Bulmer) Sherman. She attended Saratoga High School and pursued a career in the medical field. She earned her CNA degree and worked many years at Kingsway Arms. Shannon wore her heart on her sleeve, showing her love and care was always about someone else.
She loved the Joy of the Christmas season, and how kind folks were to each other; she had a tenderness for all animals and enjoyed visiting petting zoos. Shannon was a woman of great faith and loved spending time with her family and friends.
Shannon is survived by her loving sons, Brent DeHart and Anthony Raines; her best friend and companion of 17 years, Daniel ‘Dan’ Leather; devoted siblings, Lisa Sherman and Scott (Annie) Sherman; a niece, Amber (Jeff) Carter, 4 great-nieces and nephews, Adrienne, Sam, Joshua and Ashlin; a brother-in-law, David (Sofia) Leather; and many friends.
Services will be held on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at 1 pm, at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, 501 Union Street, Schenectady, NY.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home on Wednesday from 12 noon to 1 pm.
