ALBANY, NY - Scott M. Morley, 54, of Albany, NY, passed away suddenly of natural causes on February 16, 2023. Scott was born on June 11, 1968, to James E. Morley, Jr. and Elizabeth W. Morley in Syracuse, NY.
He graduated high school from La Salle Institute and earned an Associate’s Degree from Paul Smith's College. Scott enlisted in the Marine Corps where he served 6 years. He deployed to South America and the Middle East; and participated in operations in Cuba and Somalia. He earned the rank of Corporal and received an honorable discharge. Scott received his Bachelor's Degree from SUNY Albany and Juris Doctorate Degree from The Thomas M. Cooley Law School. Scott practiced law for 20 years in the Capital Region; Morley Law Firm and formerly with Martin Shudt.
He is survived by his mother, Elizabeth of Annapolis, MD, his beloved wife, Nancy, and his sons, Owen and Mack, of Albany, NY. He is also survived by his sisters Margaret (Jamie), of Phoenix, AZ, Sarah (Charles) of Mahomet, IL, and brother, James (Libby) of Odenton, MD. Additionally, nieces and nephews, Charlies, George, Kial, Margaret, Lucas, and Presley.
Scott served on local boards including, Twin Rivers Council Boy Scouts of America where he received the Silver Beaver award, Rensselaer Land Trust, and Brown School serving in several roles including Chairman of the Board.
One of his greatest passions was hockey; as a player, a certified level 4 USA youth hockey coach, and a hockey father.
In lieu of flowers, a gift may be made in his memory to one of the following: Brown School, 150 Corlaer Ave Schenectady, NY 12304; The Albany Academy, 135 Academy Road, Albany, NY 12208; a local youth hockey association.

Military honors will be presented for James E. Morley, Jr., Scott's father who passed on 16 Jan 2023. Followed by service and military honors for Scott.
