GLENVILLE- Salvatrice 'Kathy' J. Venditti, 88 formerly of McDonald Avenue, entered peacefully into eternal rest on Sunday, March 1st at Albany Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family.
Kathy was born in Pittston, PA the daughter of the late Salvatore and Maria Augello Costanzo. She located to Schenectady with her family at the age of 15. She attended the former Nott Terrace High School and graduated from Mt. Pleasant High. Kathy worked for Venditti Bros. for many years and was co-owner of the company. She was a member of the Laziale Society and a communicant of St. Paul the Apostle Church and a member of the Rosary Society. Kathy was kind spirited, loving and devoted to her family, friends and faith.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband Ferdinand Venditti, whom she married on November 10, 1946; and her siblings, Josephine Ponzillo, Sarah Serapillo, James Costanzo, Carmel Costanzo and Charles Costanzo.
Kathy is survived by her loving children, Luciano Venditti and his wife Dorothy of Glenville, Patricia Pone and her husband James of Broadalbin, Dr. Ferdinand Venditti Jr. and his wife Dr. Mary Ellen Ehlers of Loudonville, Mary Jo Malizia of Charlton and Sallie Ann Avery and her husband Timothy of Glenville; 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren also survive.
Services will be held on Saturday from the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, 501 Union St. (at N. Jay) at 11 am and then to St. Luke's Church, State Street where a Mass will be celebrated at 12 noon. Interment will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home on Friday from 4 to 8 pm.
Memorial contributions may be made in Kathy's memory to the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association.
