Roger A. DeRonda

SCHENECTADY- Roger Allen DeRonda, 63, entered peacefully into eternal rest on Wednesday, July 15th, 2026, at St. Peters Hospice Inn, surrounded by his loving family, special friend Dawn and his faithful four-legged friend Roxy.

Born on June 25th, 1963, the son of late Allen and Barbara DeRonda. He was a 1981 graduate of Amsterdam High School. Following graduation, he proudly enlisted in the United States Army, serving his country honorably beginning in 1982.

He had a passion for life and the simple joys it offered. He loved playing pool, was a devoted New York Jets fan through every season, and found peace on the water as an avid fisherman. He truly lit up every room he entered and was always the life of the party. Above all else, Roger cherished the time he spent with his family and friends, creating memories that will forever be cherished by those who knew and loved him.

Roger is survived by his siblings, Cheryl Wintle; Roy DeRonda, Jeff (Janet) DeRonda and Ronnie Euler; 3 Children, Shawn (Cassy), Danielle, and Ashleigh; 7 grandchildren, beloved niece Kayla (Zach) Carson, several nephews and lifelong friends Joe Palmeri and Mondy Berrara.

Calling hours will be held from 4-6pm on Thursday, July 23rd, 2026 at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, 501 Union Street in Schenectady.
