Rodney R. Johnston

Rodney Rhea Johnston Sr. Of Schenectady, NY died on December 11, 2025, at Ellis hospital surrounded by his wife of 47 years, his four children and three grandsons. Rod was born in Lebanon, Tennessee to Otis and Eloise Johnston on January 3, 1941.

Left to cherish his memory, his wife, AnneMarie (Tessitore) Johnston. His devoted children: Brianna (James)Ward, Rodney Rhea Johnston Jr., Gary(Leah) Johnston and Anthony Johnston. His three grandsons that he was very proud of: James,Bryant and Zavry Ward.

He also leaves behind siblings: Otis, Gary and Beverly.

Additionally survived by Rodney Keith Johnston and Janet Johnston from a previous marriage.

Rod enjoyed the simplest pleasures in life especially the great outdoors,spending time with his children and grandchildren at sporting events, summers on Schroon Lake and Lake George. Let’s not forget just sitting on the front porch at his home enjoying a cup of coffee and a cigarette with his trusted dog Benji by his side.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, December 15, 2025 at 9 am at St. Adalbert Church, 550 Lansing St. Schenectady, NY .
