Robert A. Simoni, 90, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2026. He was born on January 24, 1936, in New Haven, Connecticut, to the late Arsilia Ferro Simoni and Salvatore “Sam” Simoni.

As a young boy, Robert's family moved to Schenectady, New York, where he graduated from Nott Terrace High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Army before beginning his career. On June 29, 1963, Robert married the love of his life, Carmella Saccocio. Together they were blessed with two children, Linda Marie and Robert Joseph "Rob", born just five days short of a year apart. His children were truly his pride and joy.

Robert was a devoted member and Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus in both Rotterdam and Schenectady. He was also well known as a bingo caller and found great enjoyment in both calling and playing the game, sharing many happy moments with friends and family.

Robert was predeceased by his beloved wife, Carmella Saccocio Simoni; his parents, Arsilia and Salvatore “Sam” Simoni; and his sister and nephew, Ann Pfaffenbach and Daniel Pfaffenbach.

He is survived by his loving daughter, Linda (Dan) Conahan; his son, Rob (Lucy) Simoni; his cherished grandchildren, Ryan Conahan, Chad Simoni, Carla Simoni, and Carmen Simoni; his beloved great-grandchildren, Declan and Owen Conahan; his brothers, John Simoni, Joe (Jeanne) Simoni, and his twin brother, Richard (David) Simoni; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.

Robert's love for his family, his faith, and his kind, gentle spirit will be remembered always.

We love you, Dad. You will forever remain in our hearts, our thoughts, and our prayers.
