Robert H. Narkiewicz

DELAND, FL - Robert H. Narkiewicz, age 84, of North Syracuse, NY, and recently of Deland, FL, passed away October 24, 2013. He was born in Schenectady, NY, on Aug 17, 1929, and graduated from Nott Terrace High School and Albany Business College where he became a member of Phi-Theta-Pi Fraternity. Robert was a decorated five year veteran of the Korean War, having received the New York State Conspicuous Service Cross. He worked for Beneficial Finance Co. for 32 years and was a supervisor for the central NY area. He served on the Board of Directors for Consumer Credit Counseling, the Board of Elections, and was an avid harness racing fan and horse owner. Robert was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish in Syracuse.
Robert is survived by Carmela "Babe" (Faraone) his wife of 58 years, sons Robert (Corinne) of Winter Springs, FL, and Gary (Debbie) of Schuylerville, NY, brother Edmund of Schenectady, NY, two grandchildren, Natalie (Paul) Meyer of Parker, CO, and Nicole Narkiewicz of Arlington VA, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother Alfred.
Services will be held at 10am on Saturday, at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, Union at N. Jay Streets, with the Rev. Richard A. Carlino, officiating. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home from 9 am until the service. Interment will be private.
