GLENVILLE – Robert Papa, passed peacefully into the arms of the Lord surrounded by his loving wife of 52 joyful years Jocelyne and their loving son Marc André Papa.
Robert known to many as Bob, graduated from Burnt Hills- Ballston Lake High School and Hartwick College with a bachelor's degree in business. He was a partner with his brother Dominick Papa at Perreca's Bakery on No. Jay Street for 30 years.
Bob was a sports enthusiast; he especially loved the Mets and excelled at golf, with 2 hole in one's to his credit. He always enjoyed being out on the greens with his friends. Bob was known for his great cooking; love of music, including opera and jazz, and the immense pleasure and pride of listening to his grandson Stephen play the piano. Bob was a wonderful, caring and generous man. He lived a wonderful Christian life and will be missed by all. He and his wife are devoted communicants of the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Glenville.
Robert was predeceased by his parents, Anthony and Margaret Papa; siblings, Dominick Papa and Wanda Yeo; sister's-in-law, Murielle Dupont, Gisele Beaulieu and Liette Tremblay.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Jocelyne Dupont Papa, loving son, Marc André (Jennie) Papa and his loving children, Lauren (Eric) Lee, Stephen and Allison Papa; nieces, Maria Papa and her son Kipling Papa Silveria, Donna (John) DeGeorgio, and their son Ronnie and Sandra (Richard) Wood and their son Dickie; nephews, Tony Papa and his sons Anthony and Nicholas Papa; sister-in-law, Lilia Perreca Papa; brother's-in-law, Bernard (Rita) Dupont and André (Marie) Dupont; and many dear friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, at 11am at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, 400 Saratoga Road, Glenville, with Fr. Jerome Gingras, officiating.
Relatives and friends are invited to call at the church on Tuesday morning from 10 am until 11am.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Bobs' memory to the Church of the Immaculate Conception Building Fund.
