SCHENECTADY – Ricky S. Collins, 63, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, March 17, 2017.
Ricky was born in Plattsburg on February 1, 1954 a son of the late Gladys Collins and Gerald Wells. He was a 1961 graduate of Linton High School and began working in the funeral industry with Guardian Vault Company; then with Ft. Miller Service Corp., retiring in 2013 after 23 years of service. Rick was a kind man, with great will and determination. He called it as he saw it and lived his life to the fullest. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed the companionship of his four legged friends.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Debra Dantz Collins whom he married on November 16, 1973; loving twin daughters, Kelly McDaniel and Kaylene Collins; a grandson, Bishop McDaniel; siblings, John (Bonita) Collins, Cheryl (Frederick "Tony") Cade, Tim Wells, Karen Wells and Arlene Difabio; many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 8 pm on Thursday at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, 501 Union St. Interment will be held in the spring in Gallupville Rural Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home on Thursday from 5 to 8 pm.
