GLENVILLE – Richard L. Marino, 75, entered into the Arms of the Lord on Holy Saturday, April 16, 2022, at home surrounded by his loving family.
Rit was born in Schenectady on May 30, 1946, a son of Louis and Rose Massaroni Marino. He graduated from Linton High School, class of 1964. He worked at KAPL, and General Electric, before starting his 28-year career with the Schenectady Fire Department, badge #265, retiring in 1999. When he was not working for the fire department he worked with Tony Thomas & Contractor.
Rit was a longstanding member of the Amity Bowling League at Joe DiDonoto’s; the past president and coach of the Scotia Little League, Majors, Babe Ruth, and Mickey Mantle Leagues. He was a member of Pinehaven and Ballston Spa County Club. Rit loved fishing, gardening, going to the casino once in a blue moon, (lol), puttering with his lawn, and could fix anything. A man of honor and integrity, Rit was devoted to his family, faith, and community.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 55 years, Margaret ‘Peggy’ Boggus Marino, whom he married on March 18, 1967; four sons, Louis (Vicky), Darren (Laura DiCarlo), Anthony (Marsha), and Christopher (Christina) Marino; grandchildren, Gabriella, Alexandra, Olivia, and Gianna Marino; a sister, Lois Marino; many cousins and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 19th at 12 noon at St. John the Evangelist Church, Union Street.
Relatives, friends, and members of the SFD are invited and may call at St. John the Evangelist Church on Tuesday from 10-12 noon.
