Richard G. Samulovitch

Richard Glenn Samulovitch, an extraordinary person, left this world after months of declining health and within a week of a diagnosis of a brave cancer battle peacefully at Ellis Hospital. Born to Fred and Rosemary on February 6, 1964, Richard embodied the spirit of resilience. Richard possessed a unique ability to uplift those around him even during sorrow. During early childhood, one of the significant setbacks for Richard was losing his only younger sibling Freddie at the age of 10. From early on, Richard‘s prospects for adulthood were uncertain however he defined expectations. Despite initial doubts about his potential, Richard grew into a self-sufficient adult and worked diligently at Kingsway arms full-time for over 30+ years, faithfully riding his bicycle to work. Often times after work, he would do side jobs which consisted of lawn care and home demolitions. Richard was always willing to give a helping hand whenever he could. Full of energy and zest for life Richard often stated he “had the strength of three people “. This statement was shown throughout his life as the hard work he performed and also during the last chapter of his life being he had three areas of cancer in his body when diagnosed. Richard was often seen around the local area riding his bike with a Pepsi close by to fuel his thirst. Richard maintained many friendships throughout his life. Those who knew him knew he was like a shining star and would brighten up the darkest of days for himself and others. Even though his immediate family was small, Richard considered a few select friends, his family and remained committed to the relationships as long as time allowed. What an honor it was to be a part of “his family”. Richard’s passage into eternal life was filled with peace and a yearning to be reunited with dear family and friends who have paved the way. Richard is survived by his daughter Ashley, one granddaughter and “his sister” Theresa. Richard will be laid to rest next to his brother Freddie and grandparents.
