Pinuccia J. 'Penny' Pino Varrone

SCHENECTADY – “ Penny” Pinuccia J. Pino Varrone, 78, entered peacefully into eternal rest on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at home, surrounded by her loving family.
Penny was born in Scordia, Province of Catania, Sicily, on January 8, 1943, a daughter of the late Rocco and Maria Manuel Guzzardi. She immigrated to the United States in September 1961, to join family and friends. In Sicily she became educated as a pattern maker at the age of 16, inspiring her love and passion for being a seamstress. Penny became a licensed hairstylist and owned and operated Definitions Hair Salon, in Glenville, for many years. She was a kind loving artistic woman who treasured her family, loved caring for her grandchildren and enjoyed cooking.
Penny was predeceased by a son Francesco Michael Pino and a grandson, Joseph Pino.
She is survived by her beloved husband, of 27 years, Nicholas Varrone; loving children, Anthony M. (Kimberly) Pino, Frank C. (Eva Darnell) Pino, Michela M. (James) Del Monico; step-daughter, Lia (Ed) Depres; grandchildren, Kiersta, Chelsea, Christopher, Francesco, Alexander, Elena, Audrey, Sabrina, Vivian and Oscar; great-grandchildren, Leighla and Levi; siblings, Giovanna Barone and Anthony (Lucille) Guzzardi; Godchildren, Karen James and Carlo Andrea Barone; many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10 am at St. John the Evangelist Church, Union Street. Interment will follow in St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Glenville.
