Pierina E. Covato Ago

ROTTERDAM – Pierina E. Covato Drago, 89, entered into eternal peace, on Thursday, May 11, 2023, at Ellis Hospital, after being stricken at home.
Pierina was born in Pozzallo, province of Ragusa, Sicily on June 28, 1933. She worked as a seamstress, before immigrating to America in 1966. She settled in Schenectady with her family on Foster Avenue. Pierina worked for New York State on the WA Harriman Campus, retiring after 29 years of service. True to her Italian culture, Pierina was an amazing cook, and baker and raised her sons with respect and a rich Italian heritage. She was a kind and loving woman, devoted to her family and her faith. She was a communicant of St. Anthony’s Church.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Dominico Drago; loving son, Anthony Drago.
Pierina is survived by her devoted sons, Paul Drago, Joseph Drago, and Peter (Cathleen) Drago; grandchildren, Tina Marie, Kristen Noel, Anthony, Josh, Ethan, Nino, Nicholas, Olivia, Serena, Brooklyn, and Drago; great-grandchildren, Mia Drago. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A Mass of Christian Burial to which relatives and friends are invited to attend will be celebrated at 1 pm on Wednesday at St. Anthony’s Church. Interment will follow in St. Anthony’s Cemetery.
