SCHENECTADY – Phyllis J. Cusano, 88, entered peacefully into eternal rest at home on Monday, December 19, 2022.
Phyllis was born on December 27, 1933 in Bangor, Maine, the daughter of the late Myrle and Harriet Cole Joslin. Phyllis graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in Jacksonville, FL and attended business college. Phyllis met her husband John, in Jacksonville while he was serving in the US Navy. They married on July 7, 1956. For many years Phyllis was a homemaker and then returned to work at Walden’s Books in the former Mohawk Mall, retiring in 1993 after 14 years of service. Phyllis was a caring and loving woman. Over her years, she provided kindness, loving and compassionate care to young toddlers in the neighborhood and many family and friends.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband John C. Cusano in 2007.
Phyllis is survived by her sons, Charles Robert (Katie) Cusano Roger John (Margaret) Cusano; grandson G. Charles Cusano; several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Tuesday, January 3 at 10 am at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, 501 Union Street. Interment will follow in St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Glenville.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home on Monday, January 2, from 3-5 pm.
