Philomena Bandy, passed away peacefuly on August 19, 2012 the day after her 101st. birthday.
For the past three years, she resided at Capstone, formerly Mt. Loretto Nursing Home in Amsterdam. A lifelong resident of Schenectady, Miss Bandy lived on Devine Street and will long be remembered for her pleasant dispositon and her kindness to animals.
Miss Bandy is survived by her sister Anne Fichtner, severa nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Pat and Carmela (Bencivenga) Bandy, a brother, Louis Bandy and her sister Lena Ciccone.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Anthony's Church, Seward Place on Thursday at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow in St. Anthony's Cemetery, Glenville.
The family would like to convey their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Capstone Rehab and Nursing Home and to Community Hospice of Amsterdam for their compassion and kindness.
