ROTTERDAM- Philomena L. 'Fay' Attanasio, 87, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday at Ellis Hospital, with her loving family at her side.
Fay was born in Troy on February 12, 1924 a daughter of the late Michael and Madeline Gross Pisaniello. She graduated from Catholic Central High School and Albany Business College. She was employed in the customer service department for JM Fields and later at Two Guy's in Schenectady retiring in 1973 after many years of dedicated service. Fay was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother. Later in years, she cherished the time she was able to spend with her grandsons. Fay was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church.
She was predeceased in death by her beloved husband Michael D. Attanasio whom she married January 7, 1951 and who died September 18, 1993; her loving son Michael P. Attanasio; sons-in-laws, George Bird and Dennis Cuff; a brother Joseph L. Pisaniello.
She is survived by her devoted daughter, Claudia Cuff, of Rotterdam, adoring grandsons, Ryan Cuff, of Syracuse and his fiancée Nina and Cory Cuff, of St. Louis MO and his girlfriend Lindsay; a sister, Mary Grace Abrunza, of Watervliet and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Tuesday morning at 10 am at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, Union at N. Jay Street and then to St. John the Evangelist Church, Union Street, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am. Interment will follow in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, Monday evening from 5 to 8 pm.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Fay's memory to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Lane, Memphis TN, 38105.
