GLENVILLE – Peter Lane, 92, entered into eternal rest on Thursday at Kingsway Arms.
Peter was born in Schenectady on October 30, 1918 a son of the late Alexander and Constantine Oleskiewicz Laniewski. He graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School and soon began working as a painter for the General Electric Company, retiring after 40 years of dedicated service. Peter was an avid reader and a fan of baseball, especially the NY Yankees. He and his wife traveled extensively around the world and were members of the Acey-Deucey Square Dance Club and the Young at Hearts. He was a faithful communicant of Immaculate Conception Church, Glenville.
Peter was predeceased by his siblings, Anthony, Casimir and Adam Laniewski.
Survivors included his beloved wife of 71 years, Louise Simone Lane, who were united in marriage March 30, 1940; devoted son, Richard Lane, and his wife Elaine, of Galway; adoring grandchildren, Kathryn Jarosh and her husband Andrew, of Saratoga and Richard L. Lane and his wife Jacqueline, of Ballston Lake.
Services will be held Saturday morning at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, Union at N. Jay Streets at 9am with Fr. 'Jerry' Gingras officiating. Interment will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Brandywine Avenue.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, Saturday morning from 8:30 to 10:00 am.
