Peter Allen Dicocco

June 4, 1954 — December 26, 2023

SCHENECTADY - Peter Allen DiCocco was born on June 4, 1954, on a beautiful spring day to Paul and Mary Ellen DiCocco in Schenectady, N.Y. Peter’s light would shine whenever he entered a room or met someone new who could never forget that handsome smile and those beautiful blue eyes.

Sadly, Peter passed away, although peacefully, on December 26, 2023, after a long illness.
His parents preceded him in death along with brother Paul, sisters Paulette and Eshia, and nephew Henry Ciccone.

He graduated from Linton High School in 1972 but his education was the life which he loved and lived to the fullest. He had a varied lifelong group of friends who loved being around him as he made the world a more fun and livelier place when he was in it.

With his impeccable presence and sharp mind, he knew all about the sports and horse racing industries and loved music and entertainment of all forms. With a deep passion for food, he cooked the recipes of his family’s restaurants as well as, if not better than, the chef!

His passion though was the light of his life, his beautiful daughter, MaryEllen DiCocco (David) Papa and until about a year ago, his perfect granddaughter, Francesca Papa.

Peter is also survived by his sister Pamela DiCocco (Joseph) Alvarado, brother Patrick (Michael Conarroe) DiCocco, nieces and nephews Llona (Michael) Hogan, Zachary (Jessica Reynolds) Musler, Maria (Chris) Bond, Candice DiCocco, Paul DiCocco III, Alizabeth, Eshia (Logan Luchsinger), Joseph Paul, Anastasia (Keaton) Himsl and Gabriela Alvarado as well as best friends Joseph Rosamino and Elio Miranda. He loved and is loved dearly by many cousins, extended nieces, and nephews among many friends.
To remember Peter in kind, his family would like to request acts of grace and kindness and to think of Peter when doing so.

We would like to thank Donald Tessitore, III, and the staff at Albany Medical Center for their loving care. If you would like to make a donation in Peter’s memory, a contribution to the American Cancer Society would be appreciated.

Memorial service information will be at a future date.
