ROTTERDAM – Patricia A. Gabree, 71, entered peacefully into eternal rest on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at Albany Medical Center Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
Patty was born in Schenectady, the daughter of the late James and Katherine (Lynch) Shiely. She was a 1972 graduate of Schalmont High School and later attended Hudson Valley Community College.
Patty worked in various positions before dedicating herself to raising her children. After her family was grown, she began a long and successful career with BOCES, where she worked for 24 years.
A devoted wife and mother, Patty always placed her family before herself. She was known for her warm smile, which had a way of touching everyone she met. She was a proud member of the VFW Post 1895, and the Rotterdam Eagles, where she supported veterans and enjoyed the company of family and friends.
Patty was predeceased by her brother, John (Diane) Shiely and a sister-in-law, Carol Closson.
She is survived by her devoted husband, whom she married on August 30, 1975, Lee Gabree; loving children, Heather (Dominic) Palazzo and Corey Gabree (Jennifer Cole); her grandchildren whom she embraced with love, Ava Palazzo, Giovanna Palazzo and Elliott Gabree; a sister, Amelia Louison; and brothers-in-law, James (Patricia) Gabree and Stephen (Maureen) Gabree; several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home on Saturday from 3 to5 pm.
Services will be held at 12 noon on Sunday, with Fr. Dominic Isopo, officiating.
