Patricia Deblasio Dicocco

March 17, 1948 — March 18, 2023

ROTTERDAM- Patricia DeBlasio DiCocco, 75, was welcomed into the loving arms of her Father on Saturday, March 18, 2023, with her family by her side.

Patricia was born on March 17, 1948, in Schenectady NY. The daughter of the late John and Adalgisa “Dege” DeBlasio, “Patty”, as she was known, graduated from Linton High School in 1966. From there, Patty continued her education at Mildred Elley and graduated with her certification in Secretarial Studies. Patty had no intention of working behind a desk and much rather preferred her role as mother and wife, so as soon as her first child was born, Patty left work to be home full time lovingly raising five children.

Patty then went to work at DiCocco’s Luncheonette for many years as a waitress and cook until its closure in 2000. In 2007, she stayed with the theme of working in the family business and joined DiCocco and Associates until she retired in 2018. Patty especially enjoyed cooking, baking, playing small pranks on family and friends, and making costumes for her kids and grandkids for Halloween. But most of all she loved her family vacations to the beach where she could take the grandkids on walks to search for sea shells and rock them to sleep in an instant. Patty especially loved her role as Mimi and cherished every opportunity to express her generous, caring, and selfless spirit. Her life has shown those around her how to love unconditionally and do your best to help those around you smile!

She was predeceased by her parents, nephew David Josh Kowalski and her father-in-law, Duilio “Jake” DiCocco.

Patty is survived by the love of her life, Lawrence “Larry” DiCocco, whom she married on January 21, 1968: her children, Lauren (Todd) Defayette, Lawrence (Tracy) DiCocco, Jr Michael (Monica) DiCocco, Christopher (Marisa) DiCocco, and Alissa (Timothy) Diamond. Grandchildren, Jake, Jackson and Mia Defayette, Alexandra, Adriana, Michaela, Duilio, Milena, Sydney, Payton, and Maceo DiCocco; siblings Ann (David) Kowalski, Jocko (Christina Guidarelli) DeBlasio and Christine (Herb) Ah Yo; mother in law, Catherine DiCocco; brothers and sisters in law, Paul (Janet) DiCocco and Roseanne (Arthur) Viscusi; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. John Pezzulo; the staff at Kingsway Nursing Center, B wing as well as many home health aides (Joanne, Betty, Vidya, Sally, Baby, and Karen) that cared for Patty as their own.
