Pasquale Mastroianni

January 16, 1931 — January 16, 2017

SCHENECTADY – Pasquale Mastroianni, 86, passed away Monday, January 16, 2017, with his loving family at his side.
Pasquale was born in Caiazzo, Province of Caserta, Italy on September 4, 1930 a son of the late Giovanni and Anna Maria (DeMatteo) Mastroianni. He immigrated to Schenectady in 1966 and worked as a laborer for Fazzone Construction. Pasquale was a man of great strength, faith and loyalty. A master tradesman, my dad Pasquale had magic hands, there was nothing he could not fix or build. From the artistry in his mind, he could lay you a stone wall, put up a new chimney, tile floors and walls. He could frame a house, put an addition on, mason it all with brick, build a deck onto it, and do all the plumbing and electric. A man with a third grade education in Italy, could do it all. I was so lucky to call him dad. Pasquale was a devoted communicant of St. Anthony's Church.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Cristina Fazzone Mastroianni, on March 11, 2011; his parents; siblings, Alessandro Mastroianni, Josephine (Maurice) Padula; Giuseppe Almaviva.
Pasquale is survived by his loving son, Fred and his wife Matilda Mastroianni, of Glenville; adoring grandchildren, Michael Mastroianni, and Marissa Mastroianni, Esq. and her fiancé, Michael Spizzuco, Esq.; siblings Ferdinando (Margerita) Mastroianni, Madalena Almaviva, Marietta Cimino, Angelina (Richard) Padula and Nicola (Fenisia) Mastroianni; a sister-in-law Genoveffa Mastroianni; several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Services will be held on Saturday, January 28th at 11am from the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, 501 Union St. and then to St. Anthony's Church, Seward Place, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 Noon. Entombment will follow in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna.
Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home on Saturday, January 28th from 9 to 11 am.
