SCHENECTADY – Pasquale S. DiLorenzo, 68, of Front Street, entered into eternal rest on Thursday at Albany Medical Center, succumbing to injuries he sustained when he was hit by a car while out jogging.
Pat was born in Schenectady on April 5, 1943, a son of the late Anthony and Anna DellaVilla DiLorenzo. He was a graduate of Nott Terrace High School and retired in 2002 after 42 years of dedicated service with NYS Department of Criminal Justice, Stuyvesant Plaza, Albany. Pat was truly a great musician, he was a talented accordionist. He practiced and played his accordion striving for perfection. He was recognized locally for his musical talent. He was a natural athlete; he golfed in leagues at Stadium and Schenectady Municipal Golf Courses and a bowling league at Boulevard Bowl. He was often seen daily on the sidewalks in Schenectady, walking or jogging. Pat was an avid Yankee fan, especially the 1950 era
He was predeceased by his beloved brother Joseph DiLorenzo, to whom he aspired to and emulated his accordion playing.
Pat is survived by his devoted nephews, Joseph DiLorenzo and Anthony DiLorenzo and his partner Jennifer Tice, all of Schenectady; loving sister-in-law, Gloria Ray and her husband John, of Broadalbin and his longtime caretaker Jane Tice and many dear friends.
Services will be held Tuesday at 12 noon at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, Union at N. Jay Street and then to St. Anthony's Church, Seward Place where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 1 pm.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home Monday evening from 6 to 8 PM.
