SCHENECTADY – Pat Caschera, 74, of Gerling Street, died early Wednesday morning after being stricken.
Pat was born in Schenectady on September 22, 1942 a son of the late Pasquale and Julia Zampella Caschera. He was a member of the first graduating class of Linton High School. He joined the Military service, being stationed in Germany and later serving in the Army reserves. He started his employment with the Carpenters Millwright Local #370, retiring in 1992 after 20years of service. He was later employed by Schenectady County Job Training retiring in 2007. Pat was a communicant of St Anthony's Church. He was an avid Yankee fan; gardener; loved to fish and hunt.
Pat was predeceased by two sisters, Catherine Caschera and Dolores Nebolini.
He is survived by his siblings, Beverly (Michael) Guido; Marie Sampson (Jack) Schafer; Grace (Bob) LaSala; Nancy ( Larry) Cote; Michael (Deborah) Caschera; Laura Caschera (Ken Peacock) and Lorraine Seber; his four legged friend, Sonny; many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Services will be held at 10:30am on Friday from the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, 501 Union St., and then to St. Anthony's Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am. Interment will follow in St. Anthony's Cemetery, Glenville.
Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home on Friday from 9:30 to 10:30AM.
