Norma C. Norat Ortiz

SCHENECTADY — Norma C. Norat Ortiz, 97, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2026, at home, surrounded by her loving family.

Norma was born in Juncos, Puerto Rico, on November 17, 1928, the daughter of the late Juan Pablo Norat and Maximina Ortiz. She graduated from the Commercial Institute of Puerto Rico, where she earned a degree in accounting. She later worked for 32 years as a beautician in Puerto Rico before moving to Schenectady in 2005.

Norma was predeceased by her children, Jamie and Norma Ivette; and by her siblings, Juan Pablo, Blanca, Hayden, Jose Francisco, Tatin, and Celeste.

She is survived by her son, Jorgie; three grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, 501 Union Street, Schenectady, NY.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home
