Michael J Glantzis Sr., 57, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday July 19th.
Born to MaryAnn Glantzis in October of 1967, Michael was a longtime resident of Schenectady. He attended Linton High school, and enjoyed a nearly forty year career as a butcher at price chopper. He was well known by his customers for his outgoing personality, and his enthusiasm for delivering quality service.
Michael enjoyed cooking, playing the guitar, and riding his bicycle. He was the type of person who could strike up a conversation with anyone, and his presence left an impression on many. Michael will be remembered for his hospitality, and for always having his front door open to anyone who needed a friend.
He was also a man of faith, and found great joy in attending mass, and in religious observance.
Michael is survived by his son, Michael Glantzis Jr. who he shared with Susan Micheli, sister Lisa Vergine, her wife Lori Stapf, and nephew Angelo Pezzi. He was predeceased by his mother MaryAnn Glantzis, and step-father Donald Mizenko.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home on Sunday from 2-4 pm, followed by a Service at 4 pm, with Fr. Dominic Isopo, officiating.
