SCHENECTADY – Michael A. Conto, 55, of Foster Avenue, passed away suddenly at Ellis Hospital on Tuesday after suffering a heart attack.
Michael was born in Schenectady on December 1, 1955 a son of Joseph Conto and the late Michelena Fondano Conto. He was a graduate of Linton High School. He worked for the New York State Education Department at the museum in Albany, retiring after many years of devoted service. Michael was an avid mechanic and an animal and car enthusiast, he loved his dog Daisy.
He is survived by his loving father Joseph Conto; devoted brother Joseph T. Conto, both of Schenectady; nieces, Lisa and Joely Conto; several aunts, uncles and cousins
Services will be held on Friday morning at 10 am from the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, 501 Union at N. Jay Street, then to St. Anthony's Church, Seward Place, where a Mass will be celebrated at 11AM. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Schenectady.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, Thursday from 5 to 8 pm.
