SCHENECTADY – Michael D. Brittain, Jr., 50, passed away unexpectedly at Ellis Hospital on Saturday, with his loving wife at his side.
Mike was born in Charleston, SC on February 26, 1968 a son of Cynthia Stevens Brittain and the late Michael D. Brittain. He attended High School in Ft Worth, Texas and moved to Saratoga in 1986. Mike honorably served in the US Army in the Gulf War from 1989-1992. He was a kind and proud man; proud of his family, proud of his country, as well as a diehard Dallas Cowboy fan.
Mike is predeceased by his father, Michael D. Brittan. He is survived by his mother Cindy (Howard) Groff of Saratoga Springs, the love of his life, Kimberly Kellogg Brittain of Schenectady, whom he married on November 21, 1992, his devoted sons Michael Brittain and Nicholas Brittain of Schenectady, his step-brother Brett (Amanda) Groff, of Schenectady and his beloved dog Snickers, along with many appreciated relatives and friends.
Services will be held Thursday morning at 9:30 am from Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, 501 Union Street. Interment will follow in the Saratoga National Cemetery at 12 pm.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4 to 6 pm.
