GLENVILLE – Michael D. Bacchi, 82, entered peacefully into eternal rest on Saturday at Ellis Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
Mike was born on April 7, 1937 a son of the late Gaetano and Philomena Altieri Bacchi, He was a 1955 graduate of Nott Terrace High School. He served in the NYS National Guards as a Sgt. 1st Class. Mike was employed at the General Electric in the print shop for 36 years, retiring in 1992. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and enjoyed gardening. Mike embraced his family and cherished the time he spent with them.
He was predeceased by his siblings, Edward and Louis Bacchi, Mary Visco, and Doris Latorra.
Mike is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years; RoseMarie Bianco Bacchi who he married on November 24, 1957 at St. Anthony’s Church; his loving children, Theresa (Wayne) Wright and Michael (Desiree) Bacchi; grandchildren, Joseph (Courtney) Marro, II, Jennifer (Daniel) Lieber, Brian Wright, Stephanie Wright, Michael Bacchi, Jr. Skyler Bacchi and Logan Bacchi; great-grandsons, Alexander and Christopher Lieber; sister, Janet Lake; brother and sister-in-law, Anthony (Sharon) Bianco; many nieces and nephews.
Mike’s family is grateful to the staff on C-1 at Ellis Hospital for their compassion, care and empathy.
Services will be held at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, 501 Union Street on Tuesday at 11 am. Interment will follow in St. Anthony’s Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home on Tuesday from 9 to 11 am.
Memorial contributions may be made in Michael’s memory to Community Hospice or Ellis Hospital Foundation.
