ROTTERDAM - Mia Jo Dobbs, 20, was peacefully called from this earthly life, to live eternally with her Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ on Sunday, April 26, 2020 at Ellis Hospital.
Mia, aka “Mimi, Princess, Punk, Face and her “favorite” Booger, Mia was born in Albany Medical Center on July 13, 1999, a precious daughter of Malcolm A. Dobbs and Joanna Rosario. Mia was tiny in size and big in stature. As a young girl growing up in Rotterdam, Mia was wise beyond her years, she was always considered to have an “old soul” and a gifted talent to see the good in everyone. With her silly and goofball personality, Mia had many friends whom she treasured, especially Alexzandra “Alley” her snickers. She always had a smile on her face and loved to prank her mom, grandma and family members with her brother Justin
Mia’s natural ability and talent made her an accomplished dancer. She studied Hip-Hop at Ferrara Dance Studio from the age of 6. She loved music and always had a song in her heart and a dance in her step. She traveled in dance competitions and excelled in choreographing dance recitals. As an elementary student, Mia attended International Charter School Of Schenectady and St. Helen’s. She spent her Middle School years at Mohonasen before attending Schalmont graduating with the Class of 2017. While at Schalmont, Mia’s love for acting and dance, was enhanced by the school’s curriculum, she was a member of the choir and the drama club. She performed in school musicals, plays and concerts. After graduation she continued working with helping choreographing Schalmont students.
Mia was a devoted and hardworking young woman. She worked at Dunkin Donuts during her active high school years and now as a Skilled Specialist/Daytime Coordinator at the Center for Disability Services in Albany. Mia continued her education through college courses, reading and tutorials.
