SCHENECTADY – M. Dewey Fleming, 81, passed away very suddenly of natural causes on Friday, September 16, 2022.
Dewey was born in Trenton, NJ, the son of Maurice and Lottie Kaminski Fleming. He graduated from Mont Pleasant High School, and attended HVCC, graduating with a degree in electrical engineering. Dewey honorably served his country in the US Air Force. He worked for NYS Office of General Services, retiring after 26 years of service. Dewey was a devoted husband and father, a true patriot and a proud American. He enjoyed being outdoors; had a green thumb when it can to plants and had a special place in his heart for all animals. He was a member of NRA, SPCA, and a life member of the AMVETS in Northport FL.
Dewey is survived by his beloved wife and best friend, Vicky Goitz-Fleming, whom he married on November 13, 1985; sons, Wade (Sandra) Fleming, Todd (Kristen) Fleming, Chad (Kylee) Fleming and Al Yaggle; grandchildren, Dylan, Madison, and Chace Fleming; a beloved niece and nephew, Stacey (Pete) Bullinger and Jonathan (Mark) Goitz; brother and sister-in-law, Jon (Judy) Goitz and Donna (Jim) Bullinger; former wife, Ruth Reed; and many friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home on Friday; from 4 to 7 pm.
Services will be held on Saturday at 10 am from the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, 501 Union St, then to St. John the Evangelist Church, Union St., where a Mass will be celebrated at 11 am. Interment will be in Most Holy Redeemer on Monday at 1 pm.
