ROTTERDAM – Maxine Jeune-Pepper, 51, passed away suddenly on Sunday, May 24, 2026, at her home after being stricken.
Maxine was born at Bellevue Hospital on May 14, 1975, the daughter of the late Wilson and Patricia Conway Jeune. She attended local schools in East Greenbush and was a graduate of Columbia High School. For many years, she worked at McDonald’s in East Greenbush.
In 2002, Maxine married her beloved husband, Joseph Pepper, and together they relocated to Florida in 2012. Following Joe’s passing on December 31, 2022, Maxine returned to the Capital Region and settled in Rotterdam, where she resided with her devoted and loving sister, Tracy Jeune.

She enjoyed reading, arts and crafts, cooking, and treasured her daily afternoon coffee at the close of her busy days. The Special Olympics were an important and meaningful part of her life. She proudly played on the Rotterdam Special Olympics basketball team, the Challenger Tri-County Baseball Team, and the Clever Pin Spotters bowling league.
Maxine also had a deep love for animals. She generously volunteered and served as a foster caregiver for dogs, cats, ferrets, and any animal in need of love and care.
