Mary E. Mell Mennillo

CHANDLER, AZ – Mary E. Mell Mennillo, 92, entered into eternal rest on Thursday at her residence in Arizona.
A daughter of immigrant parents, Andrew and Mary Rose Fiorentino, Mary was born August 27, 1920 in Schenectady. She was a 1939 graduate of Draper High School, and she received a degree in Secretarial Science from Mildred Elley Business School in 1940. Mary worked as an executive secretary to the Rotterdam Town Supervisor, before starting her career at the General Electric Company. She worked as an executive secretary for General Electric Broadcasting, a WRGB CBS affiliate, retiring after many years of dedicated service.
Mary was loved by all who knew her, giving unselfishly of her time, her home and her heart. She made every holiday and special event a loving gathering of family and friends. Her door was always open, coffee and goodies ready to serve, and a warm welcome awaited those who came to call. She will be missed and remembered by all who were fortunate to know her.
Mary was a communicant of Our Lady of Assumption Church in Rotterdam and St. Andrew the Apostle Church in Chandler.
She was predeceased in death by her parents and her beloved husband, Stephen J. Mennillo after only 20 years of marriage.
She is survived by her devoted children, Beverly Carling and her husband George, of Chandler, AZ and Robert Mennillo and his wife, Margaret, of Simsbury, CT, her brother Louis A. Mell, of Schenectady; grandchildren, Leslie Bliss, Todd MacDonald, Stacey and Justin Dieterle and Rob Mennillo; great-grandchildren, Ryan and Teagan Dieterle, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Friday morning at 8:30 am from the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, Union at N. Jay Street, then to Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, Princetown Road, where a Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 am. Internment will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, Thursday evening from 4 to 7 pm.
Memorial contributions may be made in Mary's memory to Our Lady Queen of Peace Parish.
