SCHENECTADY—Mary Pucci Keating, 90, of Nott Terrace, died Thursday at Ellis Hospital.
Mary was born in Schenectady on December 23, 1919, daughter of the late Ralph and Angelina Pirro Pucci. Mary was a 1937 graduate of the former Nott Terrace High School.
Mary was employed for over 25 years by New York Telephone Company as an Operator, retiring in 1982. She was a member of the Glendale Nursing Center Auxiliary and the Northside Senior Citizens. At Northside, Mary enjoyed organizing and attending senior bus trips for many years. She was faithful communicant of St. John the Baptist Church until it closed and then a member of St. Anthony’s Church until her death.
Mary was predeceased by her beloved husband, George Keating whom she married January 15, 1949 and he died on December 26, 1994; siblings, Nicola Pucci, Antoinette Pucci, Catherine Middlemiss, Guy Pucci, Dominick Pucci and Ralph Pucci.
Survivors include her loving children, Mary Lee Olesen and her husband Erik of Auburn, CA and John P. Keating and his wife Kathleen of Halfmoon, NY; grandchildren, Ryan of North Hollywood, CA and Nathan Olesen of San Diego, CA and Elizabeth Keating of Halfmoon and Neal Keating of Washington, DC; survivors also include her sister-in-law Virginia Pucci; several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Tuesday morning at 8 am from the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, Union at N. Jay Streets, then to St. Anthony’s Church, Seward Place, where a Mass will be celebrated at 9 am. Interment to follow the Mass in St. John the Baptist Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, Monday evening from 5 to 7 pm.
Everyone who knew Mary knows that she went out of her way to feed everyone. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Regional Food Bank of the Capital District, 965 Albany-Shaker Road, Latham, NY 12110.
