Mary Angela Attanaseo

SCOTIA – Mary Angela Attanaseo passed away on December 15, 2017 at Baptist Health in Scotia, NY at the age of 98.
She was born in Schenectady, NY to Nellie (Ferro) and Dominic Scavia. Mary's loving and devoted husband of 65 years, Joseph Attanaseo, passed away in 2004. She was predeceased by her brother Bert Scavia and sister Rita Manti.
She is survived by her youngest brother Dominic (Skip) Scavia, her son, Joseph Jr. and her daughter, Paula Sapphire, Her granddaughters; Michelle Rowlison, Melissa Gorman, and Shona Sapphire and grandson, Joah Sapphire; great grandsons Nicholas and Jonathon Rowlison; great granddaughter Haley Roennpagel; great-great grandson Dallas Drew and her long time faithful friend Pat Pardi.
Mary worked for over twenty years at Save-way markets and became Executive Secretary to the President where she oversaw finance and payroll. She later served as Office Manager of Stein Foods and then Secretary for St. Anthony's Church. She worked at Church until age 81. She was a life member of St. Anthony's and a member of the Sacred Heart League.
Her entire extended family and friends will all miss her dearly.
Service will be held at 9am on Tuesday from the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, 501 Union Street, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St Anthony's Church, Seward Place, at 10 am. Interment will follow in St. Anthony's Cemetery, Glenville.
Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home on Tuesday from 8 to 9 am.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Anthony's Church Restoration Fund, 331 Seward Place, Schenectady, NY 12305.
