ROTTERDAM- Martin A. Palkovic, 85, passed peacefully in his sleep, Sunday at Ellis Hospital with his adoring daughter at his side.
Martin was born in Schenectady on November 9, 1927 a son of the late Vendelin and Theresa Stelik Palkovic. He attended local schools and was a 1945 graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School. Martin honorably served his country during WWII in the United States Army. He was employed as an office manager in the real property division for the NYS Department of Labor, retiring in 1981 after 25 years of service.
He was predeceased in life by his beloved wife of 50 years Virginia Page Palkovic in 1998 and siblings, Nicholas, Joseph , John and Paul Palkovic, Mary Johnson, Rose Budka and Helen Simek.
He is survived by his devoted daughter Marcine Palkovic, of Rotterdam; his sister, Dorothy Kabat, of New Port Richey, FL and many nieces and nephews around the country.
The Liturgy of the Word will be held at St. Paul the Apostle Church on Wednesday at 9 am, relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will be held in Schenectady Memorial Park, Rotterdam.
