ROTTERDAM – Mark S. Catroppa, 57, of St Jude Drive, died suddenly Friday at Ellis Hospital, after being stricken.
Mark was born in Schenectady on March 31, 1955, son of the late Roy and Mary Terrenzio Catroppa. He was a graduate of St Luke's School; Mt Pleasant High School and received an associate's degree in accounting from Hudson Valley Community College.
After graduating he went to work at Off Track Betting where he retired as Revenue Account Manger in 2010 after 35 years of service.
He was an avid sports enthusiast and loved Jazz music. He was a communicant of St. Luke's Church.
Mark is survived by his beloved wife, Karen S. Parrish Catroppa, whom he married October 14, 1989; their devoted children, Michael Wright and his wife Pam Robich-Wright of Albany and Jennifer and her husband Philip Westerfield of Pearl, MS; a loving granddaughter ShyAnne Grace Westerfield; aunts and uncle, Rose Terrell, Elda Terrenzio, Salvatore 'Sammy' Catroppa, and Rose Catroppa, all of Schenectady; Hazel Favata, Jackie and Steve Lawlor, Diane and Jim Miller, Ernie and Bonnie Selke, Jr; several nieces and nephews, loving cousins, dear friends and business associates.
Services will be held Wednesday at 9 am from the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, Union at N. Jay Streets and then to St. Luke's Church, State Street, where a Mass will be celebrated at 10am. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home Tuesday evening from 4 to 7 pm.
