SCHENECTADY – Mario Pecoraro, Sr., 62, of Schenectady, entered into eternal rest on Saturday at Ellis Hospital, after being stricken at home.
Mario was born in Roccaromana, Province of Caserta, Italy on April 13, 1948, son of the late Francesco and AnnaMaria Raggozino Pecoraro. He immigrated to the United States at age 12, passing through Ellis Island and living in Queens, before settling in Schenectady. He was educated in local schools and graduated from Linton High School. He helped in the daily operations of his parents pizzeria and deli’s in Albany and Schenectady. Mario was self employed as a Private Investigator for over 35 years, loyally serving the community. Mario was a member of the Crescent Boat Club and the Schenectady Yacht Club and a longtime communicant of St. Anthony’s Church.
Mario was predeceased by his parents and a sister Carmela D’Andreti.
Survivors include his former wife Roseann Marro Pecoraro, of Troy; devoted sons, Francesco M. Pecoraro, of Schenectady and Mario Pecoraro, Jr., and his wife Giuseppina, of Clifton Park; brothers, Cataldo Pecoraro and his wife Maria, of Montreal, Canada, Angelo Pecoraro, and his wife Assunta, of Roccaromana, Italy and Antonio Pecoraro, of Plantation, Fl; his companion Patricia Zollinger and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, at 11 am at St. Anthony’s Church, Seward Place, relatives and friends are invited to attend. Entombment in Evergreen Memorial Park, Colonie, NY.
