MELBOURNE, FL - Maria Puglisi D’Alessandro, beloved wife, daughter, sister, aunt and friend passed away peacefully surrounded by family on September 19, 2025.
Maria was born on February 16, 1943, in Fondachelli, Sicily, a daughter of the late Carmelo and Amelia Puglisi. The family immigrated to America, and over the years, each member pursued the American Dream in their own way, ultimately achieving success. Maria maintained a career in sales, retiring after many successful years. Maria and her husband Anthony lived in Antigua, Bahamas, Texas, Ascension Island, Florida and New York leaving an incredible mark on every community they lived in.
Maria was given a God given gift of the ability to make people feel instantly loved and valued. Her presence lit up every room and she lived with vibrancy and grace that inspired all who knew her.
Maria is predeceased by her beloved husband of 48 years Anthony (Champy) D’Alessandro; and her cherished parents Amelia and Carmelo Puglisi.
Maria is survived by her brothers Frank Puglisi, Tony Puglisi (Cathy), Joe Puglisi (Deb) and Ron Puglisi (Beth); her sister Evelyn Urys (Dennis); sister-in-law, Terry Puglisi; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, who cherished her deeply; her devoted dog, Bella who was like a child and longtime family friend Ed Cranisky.
Maria will be remembered for her adventurous spirit, boundless kindness and the love she shared so freely. Her family invites all who knew her to share laughter and love and to carry forward warmth and light she so effortlessly gave to the world. Maria’s spirit will continue to inspire and guide all who were blessed to know her.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 4, 2025 at St. Anthony’s Church at 10 AM.
