ROTTERDAM JUNCTION- Madeline F. Albanese Zielinski, 96, lifetime resident of Rotterdam Junction, entered peacefully into eternal rest on Tuesday, August 29, 2023, with her loving family at her side.
Madeline was born in Rotterdam on January 31, 1927 a daughter of the late Joseph and Nellie Albanese, and attended Draper School. Madeline along with her brother Joe, owned and operated the Mohawk River Inn, located in Glenville. She later worked for many years as a nurse’s aide at Ellis Hospital. Madeline was a loving and caring woman; who was full of life, spunky, a bit stubborn, and who loved her family and friends with all her heart. Maddie was an exceptional guitar player and lead vocalist in her band. She was a member and secretary of the County Music Hall of Fame in Cortland, NY; enjoyed camping with her family and was a lover of all animals.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband Stanley Zielinski; and her baby brother, Joseph (Little Guy) ‘JoJo’ Albanese; and her dear friend, Lena Wujciak.
Madeline is survived by her loving and devoted daughter, Nancy McCrary and her husband Tom; cherished grandson, Michael Randolph; great-grandchildren, Jordan Randolph and Stella Randolph; sister-in-law, Jane Zielinski; dear friend, Theresa Pearce, and many loving nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Wednesday, at 9 am from the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, 501 Union Street, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am at Saint Margaret of Cortona Church, 1228 Main St., Rotterdam Junction. Interment will follow in Sts. Cyril & Method Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home on Tuesday, from 5 to 7 pm.
